War and the great battles for peace

The book of Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verse 8b tells us there is "A time for war and a time for peace." I think it safe to say that as long as humanity remains the dominate species this planet will never know peace.
Death is the offspring of sin. Two sinners long ago bore two brothers. The club of Cain paved the way for the laser ray. Envy and an unwillingness to forgive has piled the carcasses of war higher than Mount Everest.
How long has mankind longed for peaceful existance? Jesus said, "The gentle shall inherit the Earth" and "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God"[Matthew 5:5&9 NASB] Does this mean that Christians should not engage in warfare. Remember, "There is a time for war and a time for peace."[Ecc. 3:8] as long as the devil is alive and well on planet Earth there will be war. "...for Satan is like a roaring lion roving back and forth upon the Earth seeking whom he shall devour."[1 Peter 5:8&9 NASB]
To what extent do Christians resist the devil?
After clothing ourselves with the armour of God "...pray at all times in the Spirit..."[Ephesians 6:10-20] "They that live by the sword shall die by the sword"[Matthew 26:52] "There is a time for war and a time for peace."
The physical battles waged from the expulsion from the garden of Eden to the present day are but the physical manifestation of the (invisible) spiritual conflict between the minions of Satan and the host of Heaven.[see Daniel 10;Zechariah 1:8-11;Joshua 5:13-15] We (war) wrestle not against flesh and blood..."[Ephesians 6:12] continue----->

We are admonished, in Scripture, to put away "all bitterness". [ Ephesians 4:31 ] By keeping our connection with Jesus intact and unpolluted by the world. Which will result in the desire to be reconciled with the brethren. [ Matthew 5:23 and 24 ] The North American Indian tribe “Miwok” would gather for public worship long before the white-man brought the gospel to the new world. The Miwok’s had a tradition that before anyone could enter the public worship area, had to be reconciled with another tribal member. This tradition produced harmony and goodwill among the members. Bitterness disrupts the harmony just like a sour note will spoil a beautiful symphony. God laid out creation with the sweet melodious voice of the Word of His mouth. Creation is His symphony. If we are still, we can hear it. But we must be still and know that He is God. [ Psalms 46:10 ] He is looking for more members to join and get in tune with His symphony. He searches the earth to find those whose hearts are loyal to Him. [ 2 Chronicles 16:9 ] God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself. [ 2 Corinthians 5:17 - 21 ]
The troubled spots of this world can be traced to bitterness between brothers. The Middle Eastern conflicts date back to Jacob and Esau; Ishmael and Issac; Cain and Abel. If you check the origins of the conflicts among mankind, you will find the flames of bitterness are fueled by an unwillingness to forgive and be reconciled. The benchmark of Christianity is "Forgiveness" represented by the cross. Jesus Christ broke down the wall of seperation "unforgiveness". [Galatians 3:26-28 ] He took the first step. Therefore, there is no room for bitterness or criticism in the Kingdom of God.
