No matter what your station in life. As sure as the sun dawns in the east and sets in the west, there will arise an appointment with your nightmare. One only has to read the book of Job to observe that God shows no partiality when refining His saints in the furnace of adversity. Anxiety filled the hearts of the children of Israel on more occasions than many can count. And you can count the same number of times God confirmed His love for His children by delivering them from all there fears. Read Psalms 34:4. And Job certainly past the test by acknowledging ...Thou canst do all things, and no purpose of Thine can be thwarted.[Job 42:2 NASB] But anxiety is different than being afraid, even though they are closely related. It arises from the depths of the human heart. It is not listed as a fruit of the Spirit of God, but rather the produce of one that still has not let go of self. More evidence of being anxious is an unwillingness to be still. Read Psalms 46; especially verse 10. The most horrible things imaginable have been done out of an unwillingness to let go and let God. We humans want to be in control of every situation. There are drugs to counter the human embarrassment of being out of control. Heaven forbid that our neighbors or co-workers have any clue that we do not have our lives under our command. The Psalmist declares that ...fretting (worry)...only causes harm.[Psalms 37:1, 7, 8 NKJV] Jesus rebuked His disciples on occasion for their lack of confidence in Him. Confidence is exactly what scripture implies when it admonishes us to Be anxious for nothing...[Philippians 4:6 NKJV] Confidence is the antidote for anxiety. Not confidence in ourselves. But a blessed assurance that we are a child of the King and the anchor of our soul is firmly set in Jesus Christ our only true foundation [1 Corinthians 3:11, 12 ] that cannot be moved. Read Matthew chapter 8 and take note of the confidence of those who were healed, that Jesus could and would heal them. Has your confidence been shaken by what you read in the local tabloids. Perhaps someone has violated your trust; physically, emotionally or financially. Read where Jesus trusted no man,[John 2:24,25] but rather placed His trust in His heavenly Father. Jesus Christ is Gods example of what our life can be when it is rightly related to Him. Thats why Jesus is the Son of Man. Our life is only rightly related to the Father through the Son. In order to do that there must be a white funeral where we are ...crucified with Christ;...[Galatians 2:20 NKJV] buried and raised with Him in baptism. [Romans chapter 6 ] And as ... we walk in the light as He is in the light...[1 John 1:7 NKJV ] there will be no room for anxiety because for once WE will not be the object of our faith and focus. Light that is focused can be used as a surgical tool to restore sight. When we walk in His light we see what He wants us to see without even asking Him. Then and only then will there be no room for anxiety. In order to accomplish this, we must be born again. [John 3:7 ] By that I mean, we must die right out of our need for self-ownership. Our claim to our rights must die. We are not our own. We were bought with a price. [1 Corinthians 6:19, 20 ] The Saviour is waiting, patiently for all to trust Him. They that put their trust in the Lord will find anxiety conquered. That is the only hope for an infusion of power to (the church) the body of Christ.
